Traveler Bio

Hi everyone! I'm Ju Hwan, a Biology major and STEM Education minor from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am incredibly honored to travel to Australia as a Gilman Scholar! I am currently spending an amazing semester as an exchange student at the University of Sydney!

Here in Sydney, I am diving deep into the sciences. I am taking fascinating classes in genetics and Australian wildlife, learning about the unique animals and ecosystems that make this continent so special. Beyond academics, I have joined a Sydney sustainability program to deepen my understanding of sustainability in the Australian context.

Through the Reach the World program, I want to show you that science is a living, breathing tool that can change the world. My experiences in Australia have strengthened my dedication to environmental sustainability and personal growth. I hope my journey inspires you to see that your circumstances do not define your future, and that resilience and action can help us all make a difference for our planet.
