You can also apply for scholarships that are available specifically for study abroad. There are lots of these that are meant for students that go to a specific country or continent. Remember, the more specific the scholarship. the smaller the pool of potential winners is likely to be.
In my case, I was able to pay for my entire program thanks to my scholarships from back home as well as the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. If you decide to study abroad you should totally check out if you can qualify for this award. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is an award given to students with financial need that want to study abroad. This scholarship is awareded to recipients who want to embrace a new culture and learn more, and are willing to respect the culture and teachings of their new experience.
