Welcome to my Life in Taiwan!

In Fort Collins, I love to go on long hikes, read in the many state and local parks, enjoy the many restaurants and coffee shops in Old Town, and spend time with my friends.

When I was in college, I had the opportunity to study abroad and do an internship in France! This was my first time leaving the United States for more than just a week-long vacation. I had the most amazing time working on a vineyard in the French Alps and was inspired to continue to look for international experiences.

Moving abroad was a really scary thing to do and it was very sad to leave my friends and family knowing that I wouldn’t see them again for almost a year. But even though it is scary, I think it still important to do the things that make you excited and happy. I knew that moving to Taiwan would be an unforgettable experience that would make me a better person and teacher. So despite being a little scared and a little sad, I packed my suitcases and took a very long airplane ride across the Pacific Ocean! I am so grateful that I was brave enough to come here. I miss my friends and family but they are happy for me and we all look forward to our reunion in July when I return to the United States.

I currently live in Taipei, Taiwan, and I will be here for almost a full year. I have been teaching at a junior high school in the southeastern Wenshan District of Taipei since the start of the school year in September. I love teaching here! It is very different from being a teacher in America and I have enjoyed learning a new perspective on how to be a great teacher. My students are wonderful and always make me laugh so much.
