Riding Around Seoul: Buses, Subways, and More!

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

The first time I used the subway in Seoul, I felt a little overwhelmed. Most of the signs were in Korean, although all stations also have English signs. The subway was also different from the subway I had used back home in the United States.

At first, I had to figure out which train to take and which direction I needed to go. But I learned how it worked pretty quickly! Now, I find it much easier to get around Seoul by subway. The hardest part is traveling during rush hour, when many workers and students are going to school or work.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Yes! Public transportation is an important part of life in Seoul. Because Seoul has so many people living and working in one city, buses and subways help millions of people travel every day.

Using public transportation can also help reduce the number of cars on the road. This means there can be less traffic and less pollution. I think it is interesting that I can live in a huge city like Seoul without needing a car. I can walk to a subway station or bus stop and use public transportation to explore the city!
