I also hope that you’ve been able to get an appreciation for what my life is like as a graduate student and a Fulbright Study Grantee. You’re all clearly intelligent, intellectually curious students. Should you choose to go to college and then even to grad school, I have a feeling that you’ll go far. If you do want to pursue a more scholarly path (or teach English abroad), then I would highly recommend looking at the Fulbright program during your college years. It’s one of America’s oldest and most prestigious international exchange programs, and we give as much as citizen ambassadors abroad as we receive in education and cultural exchange. With Fulbright, you’d be able to go to Taiwan, Italy, Romania or nearly anywhere else in the world.
It’s been an honor for me to share my time in Taiwan with the class. Thank you to Mr. Yuan and all of you students for the opportunity to share and engage in great discussions. We’ll still have one last opportunity to call later this month but besides that, please feel free to reach out to me anytime—just ask Mr. Yuan for my personal email.
I’ll see you all soon for our last call! 拜拜 bàibài/bye bye!
