Traveler Bio

"I'm going on an adventure!" - Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Hey there! My name is Johnna Ryan, and I am a junior at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where I am studying English Language, Literature, and Creative Writing.

For years, I have always wanted to travel the world. My aunt told me stories of her travels, and introduced me to the idea of studying abroad, and for years, I planned to study abroad in the most amazing place I could find. So for the Michaelmas Term (a fancy British word for college in the fall!), I am living as a student at Oxford University in the United Kingdom! Oxford, the place where many of the world's best books were written, has always been an inspiration to me, and now I get to study, read, and even write in the same place as some of my favorite writers. As I approach this brand new challenge, I decide to see it instead as an adventure. And as I always have, I find examples and inspiration in the characters that have always helped me grow and taught me lessons that have made me who I am.

Like Bilbo Baggins, I will take on this adventure, small and unaware, but running to adventure anyway. Come join me, as I experience new things, and learn about the world, stories, and even myself!
