Trip to Tangier and Casablanca

Come journey with my friend and I up the coast to the magical city of Tangeir, then back down again to the busting metropolis of Casablanca.

Because of its strategic location, Tangier has seen many battles from empires seeking to control it for trade purposes
Since we were in Tangier on Sunday, we decided to go to the cathedral for Sunday Mass
While in the old medina, we decided to visit the old tomb of Ibn Battuta, a famous traveller from Tangier
On our last day in Tangier, my friend had a typical Moroccan breakfast which included honey, amlou (almond butter with honey), and jam on beghrir (a pancake-like pastry), harcha, and msmen
When visiting Casablanca, we decided to go for a tour of the Hassan II mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world
The beautiful ceiling of the mosque is made from wood and can even be opened to the outside
Here I am underneath the Hassan II mosque where Muslims perform woudou, a purification ritual before prayer
After touring the mosque, my friend and I decided to eat dinner at the legendary "Rick's Cafe" from the classic American movie "Casablanca"
