Italy is a country known for its rich history, delicious food and colorful traditions that bring people together. Every region of Italy has its own special traditions that have been passed down through generations. Many Italian traditions are connected to family, religion and food, showing how important these things are in everyday life.
Whenever I walk through the streets of Florence in the evening, it’s common to see people gathered together, talking and laughing as they enjoy snacks and wine. This tradition is called Aperitivo. “Aperitivo Hour” is a special time, usually between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., when friends and family come together to relax and share light food and drinks before dinner.
Markets are also an important part of Italian tradition. Places like Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio and Mercato Centrale are where locals go to buy fresh produce and other goods. These markets are lively and diverse. You can find everything from fruits and vegetables to clothing and plants. Visiting these markets is not just about shopping; it’s also about connecting with others and enjoying the community atmosphere.
