Hey there! My name is Jessica Ricketts and I am teaching Spanish literacy to primary school kids in the Dominican Republic. I hope we can have fun together exploring the infinite abyss!

The weather this week has been notably rainy and stormy. I see lots of animals as I walk around town, especially chickens and dogs. Evocative music is played loudly in street corners.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned during my time in the Dominican Republic is the value of an act of service, no matter how small.

I learned about a community in Don Juan that wants to build a community center where neighbors can have meetings, classes and refuge.

During our In-Service Training, we shared lessons learned from 12 months of service and supported and inspired one another around our PCT experience. Here, I share a week in the life of training.
