It's been almost three months since I landed in Israel. I remember how uneasy I felt saying goodbye to my family and friends at the airport in Los Angeles, California on the morning of September 21st. Walking away from my loved ones was a very difficult thing to do, and the 17-hour plane ride wasn't any easier. It took me about three weeks to finally settle in and soak in every episode, experience and adventure. Now I can confidently say that I am enjoying every second of my time here in Israel. Throughout these last couple of months, I have been honored and beyond lucky to share some of my most cherished memories with all of you. I have enjoyed writing for you, and I would like to say that your class has made my trip abroad all the more special.

I think the craziest thing about my being in Israel right now is the fact that at this time a year ago, I did not even expect to be here! One year ago I was busy applying to my study abroad program, and I was busy preparing for my finals. I was too busy to stop to imagine what what my life would be like a year from then if I were to be accepted into my study abroad program. But even when I did find out that I had been accepted, I couldn’t imagine what life in Israel would be like. I was simply hoping for the best.
