Churros are long pieces of fried dough, sometimes sprinkled with a little sugar, served hot with a cup of thick hot chocolate to dip them in. They're just as great as they sound!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I try to listen to music in Spanish as much as I can because it helps so much with learning the language (and it's fun to dance to). Here's a couple of songs that I've been listening to lately (you might recognize the artists): "Mia" by Bad Bunny and Drake, and "Me rehúso" by Danny Ocean.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

There's a number of art museums in Madrid, and all of them offer free hours on certain days each week, which is awesome. My friend Zoe and I went to the Prado Museum and saw one of my favorite Spanish paintings, "Las Meninas" by Diego Velázquez. The word menina means a lady-in-waiting or maid servant, so the picture shows a number of meninas helping La Intanta Margarita (Princess Margarita) get dressed. The painting is really complex, and includes the painter himself, the king and queen reflected in a mirror, and the viewer (yourself) because some of the figures are looking right at you!

What did I read this week?:

I don't read books as often as I should, but I've been making an effort to read, write and listen to Spanish as often as I can. For example, I use Twitter to keep up with the news, and I've changed my settings so that the top trends that I see are all in Spanish. Now, when I want to learn more about current events, I read news articles written in Spanish!
