To reach it, we had to climb a long flight of stairs, but the view at the top made it worth the effort. The giant Buddha statue was very impressive, and it was amazing to see how large it was up close.

Afterward, we visited a nearby place of worship that looked like a shrine or temple. Inside, there were thousands of Buddha statues, making it one of the most unique places I have ever seen. I enjoyed learning more about the local culture and history while exploring the area with my friends.

What did I read this week?:

Most of my reading this week came from my class notes. As you all know, I study aerospace engineering, so I have been learning about the different parts of an aircraft and how they help it fly. For example, I read about the wings, engines and control surfaces that work together to keep an airplane in the air. It is fascinating to learn how all these different parts combine to help aircraft travel safely through the sky.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

This week, I attended another session of the karate club that I had recently joined. During my first class, I arrived a little late, so I missed the beginning of the warm-up. This week, I was there right from the start and got to experience the full routine. We began with lots of stretching exercises, and honestly, the stretching tired me out more than the karate lesson itself! Even though it was challenging, I had a great time and learned more about the sport.

Other news from this week:

This week was especially exciting because it included both the Mid-Autumn Festival and Nigeria's Independence Day celebrations.
