¡Hola bienvenidos a mi página! Hey everyone, welcome to my page! My name is James. I am a 24 year old originally from a small town in northern Virginia called Hamilton. Ever since I was younger, I was really interested in Spanish because I thought that it sounded like such a beautiful language and I loved the idea of being able to communicate in multiple languages. I studied at Virginia Tech and studied psychology and ended up studying Spanish as well to fulfill this interest. During my junior year, I decided to study abroad in Spain in a city in Oviedo. There, I fell in love with traveling, experiencing new cultures, and really got a grasp on speaking Spanish.
Once I graduated from Virginia Tech, I decided I wanted to continue to travel and improve my Spanish. So I decided to apply to Peace Corps Colombia. Fast forward a year and I have been living in a small town about an hour away from Bogotá, teaching English in the local high school. This past year living in Colombia has been the craziest, most adventurous year of my life, and I am so grateful to have a whole other year here. Joining the Peace Corps was the best decision I could have made post-college. I am so excited to share my stories and experiences with you all and hope to encourage you guys to travel and maybe even learn a second language in the future.
