Ahlan wa sahlan!

My name is Isha Sultan, and I am currently a junior majoring in Mathematical Statistics at Smith College, and going abroad to Jordan and Turkey next semester with SIT. I was born and raised and Brooklyn, NY, which exposed me to a variety of cultures, leading to my learning how to read and write Arabic. Throughout my life, this knowledge has stuck with me, and when I reached college, I decided to continue learning the language, and I am now minoring in Arabic.

The decision to study abroad in Jordan came from my passions in International Politics and the need to practice my speaking skills in Arabic. As someone who hopes to work within International Politics in the future, learning languages is an important skill to pursue. With SIT, I hope to build upon both of these during my time there, while also exploring the beautiful country that is Jordan.

I can't wait to show you all the wonders of Jordan, from its food to its attractions, while taking you along on my research that I will conduct during my time there!
