This week, I am formally introducing you to my first Hungarian friend, Kata Deim! We were introduced online in the summer of 2024. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Not only did she check out my apartment on my behalf to make sure it was safe and clean, she then helped me move in on the very first day we met in person. This is a rough transcript of an interview I did with her to answer these questions.
Deim Kata. (In Hungary, it is proper to introduce yourself with your last name first.)
I live in Székesfehérvár. I live in a four story flat. It’s yellow. I live on the 4th floor so I can see the lake nearby. It is two smaller lakes. And because of the height I can see the pigeons because they have a nest near my window.
I live with my mother and I sometimes visit my dad who lives near the mountain, so I had a lot of walking trips when I was a kid. My mom is really nice because she helps me with my goals. And my dad is really chill. He let me walk the big dog when I was really tiny.
