Using buses has been very nice because they areaffordable and reliable, and they can take you almost anywhere you'd like to go!
Walking has been very important for me ever since I was a kid, so I actually really enjoy it. My mom never learned how to drive, so walking has always been very important for me in helping me get around. Therefore, walking in Mexico has actually been very refreshing and I am happy that I have the opportunity to walk to almost anywhere I need to go!
In terms of buses, it is not very common in the U.S to use buses to travel longer distances (at least in Southern California), but I wish it would be more common because it is affordable and very comfortable. Here in Mexico, a lot of towns and cities have their dedicated bus terminal (almost like an airport, but for buses), and many buses go in and out everyday! I have traveled to different states in Mexico (as far as six hours away), and it has been great!
I think walking is definitely connected to the environment because it allows me to get to know my surroundings, which I really enjoy. On my walks I see plants, animals, and I interact with different people and things which are all part of the local environment. Walking allows me to observe, feel, and integrate myself within Atlacomulco.
