Hi, my name is Andy Sherrell, and I'm the Director of Maritime Operations at Ocean Infinity. You've met a number of my colleagues at Ocean Infinity so far, and have heard about their important work. Each person on our team contributes something different to any one of our searches, and it's how their individual skills combine into an extraordinary group effort that is the key to solving big challenges.

When Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared in 2014, it became one of the biggest mysteries in modern history. A large passenger aircraft had vanished, leaving families, investigators and the wider world with unanswered questions.

For Ocean Infinity, the challenge wasn’t about finding a simple answer. It was about doing something much harder: using science, technology and teamwork to search one of the most remote and difficult places on Earth - the deep ocean - as carefully and thoroughly as possible.

The first step wasn’t sending ships out at random. It was understanding the problem. Teams of engineers, oceanographers, pilots, data specialists and project managers worked together to study satellite information, ocean currents, weather patterns and seabed maps. Every decision had to be based on evidence, not guesswork.
