Journal Entry:

Hello Travelers!

As the summer starts to approach, so does the end of my Fulbright research grant. That means I will be returning to my home in St. Louis, Missouri to see my family and friends. I will certainly miss all of the friends I have made here, the amazing public transportation, the delicious kanelbulle and (of course) my daily fika!

While I am sad to close this chapter of my life, I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to live abroad, conduct research at my university, and be able to share my experience with all of you through this virtual exchange! I hope that everyone enjoyed learning about life and the culture in Sweden and that each of you will also have the opportunity one day to immerse yourself in a new environment. There are many educational programs in both high school and college that provide opportunities for students to travel aborad. I strongly encourage each of you to take the leap and explore new places, meet new people, and try new things throughout your life. One of my favorite things from this past year was meeting people from across world and learn their stories, experiences, and cultures. From learning to make kaiserschmarrn from my Austrian friends to discussing the medical school structure in Spain with a Spanish student, these interactions promoted an appreciation for how our lives can differ from those across the world.
