This is proven from my experience. Birthdays are anniversaries that cross borders, but in the context of the Jordanian society, I believe that they are made even more of an event than what I'm used to. Not only do we spend hours in our office place celebrating birthdays, but outside of work with friends, birthday parties are often an all-night ordeal. The last birthday party I went to lasted from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.!
