The Grand Palace

The temples were all created under the religion of Buddhism. Buddha is the god that the people of Thailand worship and this is very evident at the Grand Palace. There were statues of Buddha everywhere! They were inside and outside of the buildings. The temples were gorgeous as well.

I learned a lot about Thai culture while I was on this trip. We had a tour guide to help us get around the temple without getting lost. The tour guide also told us history about the palace and temples. He showed us a section of the palace where the temples were filled with the ashes of past royal family members. While I thought we were walking across beautiful temples, some of them actually were sanctuaries where royal family members were remembered. I also learned that the Grand Palace was created over 250 years ago. I was shocked because it looks so new! The tour guide told us that every few years, workers come to fix the broken parts of the palace so that it won't look old through time.

The tour guide had a lot to say given that we were walking around for about seven hours! The time seemed to fly by. I guess I was distracted by the mini market that was across the street. Those pineapples looked so refreshing! Overall, I had a great time at the Grand Palace!
