In Tucumán this week we entered into the season of Primavera,or spring! In the city of Tucumán, it can reach temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Yes, very hot! This week it reached 99 degrees outside and I tried to stay out of the sun. The air is very humid, as well, so you feel like you are taking a shower every time you walk outside.
This week, I worked at a nature reserve and helped take care of native eagles that have been injured. Eagles are large birds that are known as birds of prey. They eat small rodents and other small birds, which means that their eyesight is way better than humans.
One of the coolest things I saw this week were turtles. Behind my university, there is a botanical garden. This garden has native plants that only grow in Tucumán. It also has a very beautiful pond. I went and sat by the pond this week and found that all the turtles were out sunning themselves!
