Pigeons: The Birds That Are Quite Often Everywhere

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

While there is a general consensus that people everywhere hate pigeons, there aren’t very good reasons, to be honest. Sure, pigeons sometimes damage property and get in the way, but they’re just trying to survive in a place full of people. Pigeons have to adapt to our way of life, not the other way around. Of course, pigeons have to eat; that’s why they eat our leftover and dropped food! We can’t be angry at animals for simply doing what they need to survive.

And although I did make a joke about two turtle doves in existence, it turns out the turtle dove population is dropping due to the lack of grain and seeds essential to their survival in breeding seasons. Because of that, there have been fewer and fewer each year.

So if you see a pigeon and have some irrational urge to kick it because it’s in your way, consider this: is it really doing you any harm? Have pigeons truly offended you in any real way? I’d argue no, and we should respect even the animals that we've been conditioned to dislike.
