Hello! My name is Gabrielle, and I am a college student planning to study abroad in Australia!
I attend North Central College, where I study anthropology, the study of humans and culture. A lot of what an anthropologist does includes observing, asking people questions, and talking to people all around the world. This can help someone to think about how other people may live their life differently from you and treat them more kindly because of that. It can also be important in connecting with others and using teamwork.
I like to read, learning, and create community, and this chance to learn in another country is great for me to further sharpen these skills and build a knowledge of cultures other than my own.
In the future, from these moments and everything that I have learned, I hope to become a librarian.
Being from the United States, I am excited to see all the new places and go on a bunch of new adventures during this trip. While I’m in Australia, I hope to share my stories and everything I have learned with all of you, and I am glad to take all of you along on this journey with me!
