Over the past week, we’ve driven about 600 miles with our tour bus. So far, we’ve traveled across six of Italy 20 regions.
Most of my travel has happened within the past week, so my total travel since arriving in Italy has been about 750 miles.
Our tours always use a large coach tour bus with a driver assigned to our tour. However, now that we’re in the Amalfi Coast, the roads are too narrow and winding for the large tour bus. So, instead, we’re dividing between two small buses that can navigate more easily.
Also, we’ve taken two separate boat rides in the past week. These offer an incredible opportunity to admire the rocky cliffs, hidden grottos, and hillside towns of Italy.
The most interesting place I visited was Matera. It’s the oldest city in Italy, the landscape looks almost lunar, and many of its residents live in caves. You can’t get much more interesting than that!
