Hello everyone! My name is Frankie Yang, and I am an undergraduate student at Stony Brook University, double majoring in Accounting and Applied Mathematics & Statistics. For the Fall 2026 semester, I am studying abroad at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where I am a resident of Shaw College.
This isn't my first time taking my studies overseas! I previously studied abroad at Yonsei University in South Korea during the Fall 2025 semester, as well as at University College London. Now, as a Gilman Scholar, I am thrilled to dive into the academic environment in Hong Kong as well as the local life.
When I am not studying or exploring the city, I keep my days quite active. I love to read, do research on different types of stocks, and keep up to date with current events. I also enjoy going on hikes, biking through nice trails, and weightlifting. When I get the chance, I love to travel around and experience other country's cultures by talking to locals, trying different foods and learning about their traditions.
I hope you'll join me for this journey to China and Hong Kong!
