Figuring It Out As I Go

Living far from home has made me rethink what it actually means to be “good at making friends.” I’m realizing that it’s less about it being easy and more about being willing to try, even when it feels uncomfortable.  Making friends means putting yourself out there, starting conversations, and being okay with the fact that it takes time to feel actually connected to people. I think I’m still figuring it out, but that’s kind of the point.

Study abroad is amazing, but it also has its moments of real and even difficult experience.  For me, part of that has been learning that growth isn’t always obvious or exciting. Sometimes it means just showing up, even when things feel a little uncertain.
