I have been living in Ghana since May 2024, meaning next month will mark two years since I first arrived here. During this time, I have learned so much about Ghana and how different people around the world live. I have also developed strong ties to my community and have integrated into the new culture. Just this morning, I joined my community in a celebration of Easter, and we dressed up in our nice Sunday clothes to go to church. I have tried my best to be a great volunteer in my community and to teach my students well. I am hoping that my science and math lessons will inspire them to learn more about those subjects. My experience in the Peace Corps has also given me a strong sense of service and purpose, and it has inspired me to pursue a career where I will be able to serve other people.
It has been a wonderful experience to interact with different classes around the world. I have been in touch with some schools in the United States, and it has been great to be able to meet your class in Morocco through the Reach the World program. I have learned a lot about Morocco through this experience, too, and I hope you have learned about Ghana and the U.S. I hope I was able to be a positive example of an American through my posts on this site, and through my video calls with your class.
