With these friendships, I learned more about different cultures and perspectives, and I figured out how meaningful and fun this can be.
Outside of school, I enjoyed exploring many places throughout Japan and close to Japan (Philipines). Visiting cities such as Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto has been so cool, seeing the modern and traditional sides of Japanese culture. Some of my favorite memories include visiting shrines and temples, riding a motorcycle in the Philipines, surfing, trying new foods and exploring the cities at night. Even simple moments like riding trains, shopping at convenience stores or spending time with friends became special memories for me because they were so cool.
As my study abroad experience comes to an end, all I can really do is be thankful for everything I experienced and learned during my time in Japan. This journey helped me grow academically, socially and personally, and I know the memories and lessons I gained here will stay with me for a long time. Although I am sad to leave, I hope to return to Japan again in the future and continue learning more about the language and culture.
I also wanted to say thank you guys for listening to my story and experiences in Japan, and I wouldn't have wanted any other classroom to work with: it's been a pleasure! I encourage you guys to travel when you are older because it is something that will truly change your life!
