Hello (and goodbye), everyone! It's been a joy sharing different parts of my experience in Ecuador. I hope you've learned a little more about this diverse country, living abroad, and the Peace Corps.
The Peace Corps is a government program with programs around the world in five sectors: Education, Health, Economic Development, Youth Development, and Agriculture. If you're interested in living abroad for an extended period (two years), learning a new language (or improving your existing language skills), meeting new people, immersing yourself in a new culture, and doing service work, I encourage you to look into it! It's been the most challenging experience of my life, but also the most impactful. I've gained so much resiliency, adaptability, and knowledge through my time here that will continue to help me.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot recently, so I’m just settling back in to San Miguel after a bit in Mexico City and Quito. With only a few months of service left, the rose-colored glasses are setting in, and I am so grateful for my time in Ecuador. It’s a beautiful place, and I’ve learned so much throughout my time here, made connections that will continue to impact me for the rest of my life, and gained invaluable experiences.
