In the past couple of weeks, we've explored everything from wild Catalonian traditions, to the depths of my scientific laboratory. You guys have been everywhere with me, and it has been so nice to have your company on my journey. Thanks for being such great travel buddies! Before I sign off, I wanted to leave you with a couple of thoughts.

This last week, I had a chance to visit Morocco, a country in the northeast corner of Africa, with my friend Nadia, who is another Fulbrighter researching groundwater. We spent our week together talking about water, chemistry, music and the future. As scientists, the word "future" often feels like a scary thing. The planet we live on must stay in a particular balance, and sometimes it feels like the whole world depends on us to save it. As we walked the sandy beaches of Morocco and stared over the Atlantic, I didn't feel scared of the future. I felt hope.

Because, my Flyers, I thought of you. When I sat in your desks and stared out the same windows as you, I remember feeling this fire in my belly, like I was meant to do something big. I'm sure many of you feel that, too.

Pause here to feel that fire in your belly. What are you passionate about?
