Exploring Research and Clinical Spaces in Italy

People making this long journey could stop there for shelter and assistance. I always find it interesting to learn about Italy’s medical history, especially when it helps me make connections between the places I’ve visited.

Outside of the research labs themselves, the university also has many biomedical and science libraries. One that I visited this week is the Biology, Computer Science, Chemistry and Physics library. This is a newer building, opened in 2019, that brings collections from all four subjects together in bright, open study spaces. The university also provides electronic journals and databases that students can access online.

A lot of research involves reading what other scientists have already discovered before deciding what to investigate next. As I get started with my project, these resources will help me understand the questions my lab is working on. I have a feeling I’ll be spending plenty of time with research papers and looking for a favorite library spot to read them!
