Drago mi je! Nice to meet you! My name is Julia Davies, and I was born and raised in New Jersey. I grew up going to the beach, playing soccer, and writing short stories—and at twenty-two years old, I still love doing all those things!
I moved to Columbus, Ohio, for college to study Political Science and History at Ohio State University. I enjoyed learning about faraway places, but I always felt something was missing: I wanted to actually be there. I decided to begin my travel journey in Rwanda, a small Eastern African country, where I took classes on peace, history, and language, and conducted research on post-conflict memorialization and museums. Living somewhere so different from home was challenging, but I learned so much that all I wanted to do was keep traveling! After my classes ended, I spent another month visiting cities around Europe on my own —Amsterdam, London, Paris, Zurich, Lisbon, and more!
Upon returning to America to finish my last semester of college, I started interviewing for internships abroad. I moved again to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a small Eastern European country.
