Exploring Japan

There are also many museums, theaters and events happening all the time. Japan also has one of the most comprehensive, convenient and punctual rail-systems in the world, so visiting other cities is very easy. Sometimes, I like getting on the train and disembarking at a random city just to explore it. I also like to wander around temples, small family shops, restaurants and anywhere else that catches my eye. This to me has been the best way to explore Tokyo so far. But don't worry, it's hard to get lost in Tokyo, as many people speak English and Google Maps works very well!

What am I doing in Tokyo, and what brought me here? I study anthropology, the study of humans and their cultures, at the University of California, Berkeley. I came to Japan as part of a personal challenge that took me out of my comfort zone in order to grow personally and develop my vision of the world. My love for cultural differences and languages led me to Japan, where I am challenged to communicate in a substantially different language and adapt to different customs. I also want to do international work after college, so I chose to study at Waseda University, where I conduct joint research with a group of Japanese and American students on current global issues that affect all humans on the planet. Japan, like the United States, is a developed country with a lot of economic and political power, and with the resources to change the world.

I am very excited to share all my adventures and explore the beauty and teachings Japan has to offer with you during this trip. またね!Until next time!
