Traveler Bio

Hello! My name is Ethan Frey, and I’m a 23-year-old TEFL Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Ecuador. I arrived in Ecuador on January 23, 2024, and will serve until April 26, 2026. I work at an educational institution that serves students from preschool through technical pre-college, giving me the opportunity to engage with learners of all ages and backgrounds.

Beyond teaching, I’m involved in various community initiatives. I lead several English clubs across the province, helping students practice their language skills in fun, interactive ways. I also run a weekly trivia night that blends learning with entertainment. Additionally, I collaborate with other Peace Corps volunteers on community development projects, focusing on education, health, and sustainability.

Originally from New Rochelle, New York, I graduated from the University of Vermont with degrees in Community and International Development and Spanish. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and sharing this journey, and I look forward to hearing about your school year highlights!

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
