Hello everyone! My name is Esteban Garcia. I was born in a little town called Nashua, New Hampshire, but I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina at a very young age and grew up there. In 2018, I graduated from high school in Raleigh and started attending college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, not too far from Salisbury where you all are!
I am currently an elementary education major with a concentration in teaching English as a second language. I really want to work with non-native speakers of English because I was one myself. I went through the ESL program in elementary school. I think it's a really good way to impact the lives of members in the community and can lead to really big changes in their lives.
I wanted to study abroad in Finland because of their great education system. I want to see just how different their schooling is compared to the United States. I also think Finland is a very beautiful country, and I want to see all of the nature the country has to offer. Travel has always been a very important thing for me because it allows me to expand my points of view and increases my social awareness.
