Middle Atlas Mountain Environment

Introduction:

My village is known for being a kind of oasis in the dry mountains around us.  The snow on top of the mountains provides water for the waterfalls here and makes my town the perfect place to settle and farm.

What makes this environment special or different?:

The environment here is dry and warm most of the year.  There is very little grass anywhere and the main plants that grow here are succulents and rosemary bushes, both of which thrive in dry environments.  Olive trees also grow very well here because they need some water but can handle a lot of sun.  The most special part of the environment here is the three waterfalls that cover the red rock mountain above the town.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

The waterfalls and natural springs provide water for the town in the midst of very dry mountains.  There is not much rain here, so the snow that stays on top of the mountains and slowly melts all year provides water and enables people to live and farm here.
