Australians have a strong sense of "mateship," or community and friendship, so the deaths of these soldiers has a lot of weight.
Anzac Day doesn't interact with the natural environment very much, but the legacy of the ANZAC group is very prevalent in Sydney. They have numerous memorials, including the big one downtown in the picture. They also have a busy street named Anzac Parade.
