Transportation in Florence

Learning new things is not always easy, but usually worth it in the end!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

The way people get around says a lot about their culture and the environment they live in. For example, in Sacramento, CA where I live, most people drive because stores and homes are spread farther apart. Driving allows us to get to the places we need to sooner. In large cities with tons of people and traffic and few parking spots, like New York, the train can be the fastest way to get around.  In small, busy cites like Florence, where most stores, homes and buildings are tightly packed together, people tend to walk or ride bikes to get around town. I have come to understand that each of these approaches to transportation make sense in their own environment!
