My name is Elizabeth. I was born in Oklahoma but have spent most of my life in California. I am an artist and study art at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, CA. Sacramento is the capital city of California, where the governor lives. It has as a strong artist community which provides me with many opportunities to meet other artists and develop my skills. As an artist, I love to paint, draw and make paper collages. Collages are pictures made from cut up magazine photos and other papers. My art is inspired by nature, so I mainly paint pictures of nature and people. I have known I wanted to be an artist since I was little because I loved doing arts and crafts like crocheting, painting, drawing and jewelry making. Making beautiful things is fun because it also makes people happy. Last year, I got the opportunity to study art in Florence, Italy. Italy is a really interesting place for an artist to study in because it is the birthplace of the Renaissance, an art movement that changed the world. Living in Florence was like living in a giant art museum because it is full of famous works of art.
