On one occasion, UNICEF partnered with local universities to provide medical attention and legal advice to refugees in an area called Simon Bolivar. Many families are living in one-room wooden houses without a bathroom.
The situation is extremely heartbreaking, but I’m happy to be doing what I can. I always thought my Fulbright experience would be this prestigious journey, but in reality these past seven months have been incredibly humbling. I’m so thankful for this experience, and I hope to continue learning.
