Meet Sofie!

Although my house is small, we have a lot of surrounding land. My next-door neighbor is quite far away! The area is very beautiful and quiet, so although there isn't much to do, I still appreciate it.

What is your family like?:

I have a younger sister and a younger brother, both of whom still live at home. I am really close with my father; he is like my best friend. We have a very open relationship, so whenever I want to go out with friends, he allows it and even drops me off.

How do you get around?:

Since I live in Hasselt, I get around by either biking or by taking the bus. I live in the dorms, so it is only a short walk to all my classes. My parents always come to pick me up with their car whenever I am ready to go home.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I feel that a lot of the style in Hasselt is influenced by the selection we have within the boundary of the city. For instance, in the main shopping street, we have a Zara, H&M, and a Primark. And because these are such cheap, trendy options, I think I see the same clothing on all the young students here. My own personal fashion is a mix of the trendy clothing I buy here in Hasselt with sophisticated, more expensive pieces that my parents have gotten me in Paris, Milan and other cities we visited on holiday.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

In my free time I mostly hang out with friends, take yoga classes at the gym on campus, go on walks in the area (there are lots of beautiful farms and streams to see around my dorm), or go try out the different restaurants in Hasselt.
