I've talked a lot about my time here in Seoul, the capital and biggest city in Korea, but I've also been exploring cities outside of Seoul! Here are a few places that I've been to and what I did in each:

  • Icheon - This is a small city about two hours away from Seoul, and we visited a pottery shop to learn how to make traditional Korean pottery! The last time I made pottery was in elementary school, so when I had to use a potter's wheel during the trip, it was so much harder than I remembered.
  • Andong - I went on a Korean culture field trip here, where I tried woodblock printing and book binding. I also visited a small theme park and tried on a hanbok, a traditional Korean outfit.
  • Cheongju - This was the first time that I travelled outside of Seoul by myself! It was recommended to me as a 'hidden gem', and while I was there, I went to a few museums and hiked along an old fortress.

In between these weekend trips, I've continued to do so many fun activities here in Seoul. It's been my goal to experience some specific things during my time in Korea, and I'm happy to say that I've already been able to do almost everything I wanted, and even more!
