A Final Farewell

Sometimes the food was too spicy or I really wanted some Chicago deep dish pizza. It was never fun to be sick on Jeju Island, either. What made it easier was finding a family of friends on the island. These friends made the homesickness better by going on fun adventures with me like scuba diving, visiting new cities and singing Korean pop songs at noraebong (karaoke).

I hope that you learned a lot about South Korea and other cultures while you followed my journey on Jeju Island. If there is one thing that I have learned while being abroad, is that people from other countries are not as different as you might think. We all have music that we like to listen to, favorite foods and stories to tell. If you are ever given the chance to live in a foreign country, I hope that you take advantage of that chance. You will learn a lot and have so many awesome experiences that you couldn't have at home!

Thank you again for letting me share my journey with you. Until next time, annyeonghi gasipsio. Live with peace.
