Hello! My name is Christiane, and I am super excited to meet you all! I am 20 years old and originally from Nashville, Tennessee--also known as Music City. I love living here because music is everywhere I go. Right now, I also live in Washington, D.C., where I study International Affairs and Global Public Health at George Washington University. That means I learn about how countries work together to solve big challenges, such as keeping people all over the world healthy. Because I want to gain a deeper understanding of the world, I decided to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. I plan to improve my Spanish skills, as knowing the most widely spoken languages worldwide will be helpful for my career. I am grateful to have received the Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship, which helps students in need travel and learn about new places. While in Spain, I look forward to living with a host family who will teach me cool phrases and introduce me to new traditions. From Spain, I can also visit other amazing countries in Europe! I would like to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy or see the beautiful beaches in Portugal. With that being said, I look forward to taking pictures and sharing my adventures with you, as well as hearing about your classroom stories.
