Howdy and Nice to Meet You!

Some of my favorite memories included studying abroad in France, participating in a business leadership program called Mays Business Fellows, starting my own online social impact online business, researching sustainability for my senior project, being a Teaching Assistant and my French classes.

As immigrants and descendants of holocaust refugees, the importance of paying forward our opportunities was always emphasized to me. During my time in college, I realized that I was passionate about business because of the excitement in innovation, but could only be truly motivated if a part of that business model helped people or the world. It was at this moment that those two important interests, innovation and giving back, combined into my passion for social business. I discovered that a social business was a business that works to solve a social problem through its business model and decided that I was going to pursue that for my career. However, no one was exactly advertising that at my local career fair! Instead, I had to look outside of the box for opportunities, like partnering with a nonprofit to donate profits from my online store and recruiting with companies that did not have a relationship with my school.

With the support of my mentors who helped me understand who I was and then supported me in finding opportunities to pursue my interests, I applied to the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Brazil where I could return to my roots with a skill to contribute while learning from and being embedded in the education system. When I return, I will be working at a social impact strategy consulting firm in Boston, where we will apply business principles to various social causes.
