Buon Appetito!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

The gelato was absolutely delicious. You can taste the freshness as the shop and its workers make the gelatos fresh every day, often starting their day at 4 am. Fassi and many other legitimate gelato shops in Italy emphasize using fresh and organic ingredients and avoiding artificial flavorings. You can definitely taste the natural and real ingredients used to make the gelatos. I was able to try and even help make their coconut gelato, which was extremely creamy and coconutty. After getting a mini-tour and demonstration, we got to pick out our own gelatos to try. I got my go-to chocolate and pistachio with cream on top. The chocolate was rich and creamy, and because of the natural ingredients used, it was not extremely sweet. The pistachio flavor had a hint of sweetness, but the nuttiness and saltiness of the pistachio perfectly balanced out the creaminess and sweetness of the chocolate. The cream on top was not too sweet but added another layer of creaminess and a light, fluffy texture to my cone of gelato.

How is the food prepared?:

The gelateria produces around 2,204 pounds of gelato daily and offers 26 flavors that change with the seasons. The gelato shop continues the tradition and mindset of "less is more." That is why when they make their gelatos, they focus on fewer ingredients to produce the highest quality of gelato. As I mentioned before, they also emphasize the use of natural and high-quality ingredients, such as fresh fruits and dairy, keeping far away from artificial flavorings and colorings, and using traditional methods. They make their gelatos fresh daily, and many of the recipes are originals passed down through generations.
