I wouldn't necessarily say this dish is an important part of Greek culture, but it is a very popular dish at restaurants. It a very common appetizier you see people getting at restaurants, and if you were to ask people around here for some recomendations, this is usually at the top of their list! This isn't something you could find at any place in the US, and the mix of textures and flavors really bring the dish to the next level and it's why so many people in Greece love it! Food in general is a huge part of Greek culture, and getting to try all of the different dishes has been amazing!
