We traveled a lot for Hakuba. It took us an hour to get to our bus stop from our dorm to Tokyo, and then another 4-5 hours to get to Hakuba.
We also did a lot of traveling in Hakuba. When we arrived to our stop, it took us 15 minutes to walk to our lodge as well as another 15 minutes to get to the resort. Overall, we traveled a lot!
We used buses a lot to get to where we were going. We took a bus from Shinjuku, Tokyo to Hakuba, Nagano. Even when we got to Hakuba, we used a bus to get to the snow resorts. Aside from that, we used gondalas to get up and down the mountain tops and to snowboard and ski our way down.
During my time in Hakuba, we ended up going to an onsen. An onsen is a place of relaxation; it is a bath house of hot tubs and water for you to relax your muscles in. The coolest thing about this onsen, though, is that it had an outdoor hot spring! I do not think it was natural, but it had hot tubs and hot bodies of water for you to sit in while being surrounded by the wintery mountains and snow. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I had, especially after a long and tiresome day of snowboarding.
