There were a lot of tourists, so English was a language that a lot of people used. Aside from that, Japanese was another language used.
Due to the amount of tourists, credit cards, and debit cards were a form of 'money' you could use. Obviously, the Japanese yen was also used since that is the currency used in Japan.
A water of bottle costs around the same as it does anywhere in Japan. However, the vending machines were more expensive at the resort. The bottles were smaller and a bit more pricey than a full size bottle of water anywhere else.
The best meal I had in Hakuba was the Teriyaki Don at the lodge we stayed at. It was made up of white rice, teriyaki chicken on top, and some green onions as garnish. The plate came with a side of small Japanese pickles which taste different from regular pickles in America. It was delicious!
To match the extreme sport of snowboarding, I played a lot of music that pumped and hyped me up! I was listening to a lot of metal and rock which made me more excited to go down the snowy slopes.
