Since arriving in the city, I had not traveled too far from where I am staying, until yesterday, when I went on a scavenger hunt throughout the city with other American teaching assistants. We visited many famous KL landmarks over the course of four and a half hours, and traveled about 15 miles. Some of the sites included the Petronas Towers, the Kuala Lumpur tower and the Sri Mahamariamman Temple in Chinatown.
Starting at home in Arlington, MA I traveled to JFK International Airport in Queens, NY. From New York, I flew to Hong Kong International Airport in China. From China, I flew to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Finally, I took a bus from the airport to an area of the city called Bukit Bintang, where I will be staying for the next two weeks. In total, I traveled about 9,860 miles on this journey so far!
So far, I have used a car, a plane, an aerotrain (a small indoor train, like the metro, in the KL airport) and my own two feet to get around this week!
